CNU NYC and the Congress for the New Urbanism’s New York State Chapter will conduct a Battery Park City walking tour. The approximate one-hour tour will show firsthand the design characteristics that make Battery Park City a better place to live and a model that helped build the principles of New Urbanism. New Urbanism is a planning and development approach based on the principles of how cities and towns had been built for the last several centuries: walkable blocks and streets, housing and shopping in close proximity, and accessible public spaces. The tour will be led by Zeke Mermell, AICP, LEED AP, a Senior Urban Designer at Sam Schwartz Engineering. Register for the walking tour by emailing [email protected]
