NEW YORK CITY will serve as our backdrop - with transportation reform such as Vision Zero and the OpenStreets movement, which famously catalyzed major pedestrian improvements to Times Square. Summit tours will travel across the city to explore exemplary bikeway systems, visit the South Bronx's Sheridan Expressway (where CNU's Highways to Boulevards movement is currently engaged), and take you atop the famed High Line to unwind with colleagues, hosted by CNU New York.
This year's Summit will focus on the interaction between equity and transportation and how we can redefine transportation standards to support safe, vibrant, and equitable streets.
Three days of presentations, discussions, tours, and working meetings will challenge participants to identify research opportunities, policy strategies, and design approaches that make transportation policy more holistic and equitable. These discussions around Equity + Transportation will form the basis of CNU's work on this topic for the upcoming year.
