Saturday Oct. 16th, 11:00 am
Please join CNU New York for a rare walking tour conducted by two of the most preeminent authorities on Battery Park City. BPC is an internationally recognized model of sustainable planning and architecture. Brian Shea of Cooper Robertson & Partners, one of the original master planners, and Susan Kaplan, the retiring Director of Sustainable Design for the Battery Park City Authority, will discuss the planning, the acclaimed sustainable building program, and the form based codes. The planning embodies the principles of LEED for Neighborhood Development and the Charter for the New Urbanism even though it commenced 30 years ago. Battery Park City has 15 LEED projects, targeted and complete, including the Solaire, the first LEED Gold high-rise apartment building in the nation. The tour will last 1.5 to 2 hours. Please RSVP.
